Junayd al-Baghdadi (the famous Sufi Mater) said: “Journey to Allah consists of four steps: repentance breaking the hold of sins; fear repelling temptations; hope stirring up the passion to engage in good works; and mastering thoughts by visualizing the watchfulness of Allah.”
