Question: Assalam Alaykium Is it permissible to pray when a women is still in her monthly cycle during Ramadan. The age of the person is 48 years old. Usually the monthly cycle last for 8 days. This time the cycle has being going on for more than 15 days and it is not as the normal cycle. How can she deal with this during the month of Ramadan? Does she pray and fast as usual or she cannot do so?Barak Allah Fikoum
Answer:

You should perform ghusl after 8 days-it it the pattern of your monthly cycle before this condition. The bleeding past the eight days, in your case, will not be considered as due to menses; rather it is reckoned as istihadhah; in the case of istihadhah you perform salah and fast as you would do after having performed ghusl at the expiry of menses; you need to wash your private parts prior to each salah as close to it as possible.
